Marinating is a great way to enhance the flavor of meat products before cooking. A marinade will generally consist of herbs, pungent vegetables, and a liquid. Here is an example listing of herbs and spices that are commonly used to create marinades.

  1. Obviously these are just a few. The real trick is how you mix them together to create the next big marinade. In my opinion you need to combine three things to have a successful marinade sweet, heat, and citrus/tang. Here I'll start!
Citrus Mexican Marinade
  1. Orange Juice
  2. Lemon Juice
  3. Olive oil
  4. Cilantro
  5. Cumin
  6. Soy Sauce
  7. Pepper and Salt
  8. See it's that simple! Start with a meat product, then decide what type of cuisine you will be making and combine. I always add some olive oil to the marinade so that it will coat the meat before it hits the BBQ.
